The battery cells of traditional lithium batteries are composed of positive and negative electrodes, electrolyte, and separator. Solid state lithium batteries convert the liquid electrolyte inside the battery into a solid electrolyte, thereby solving the potential risk of flammability and explosion in traditional lithium batteries. The mass-produced lithium battery does not contain a single drop of liquid and is a true all solid state battery. Replacing liquid with solid is easy, but it faces a common technical challenge in the industry - the solid solid interface. Lithium ions in liquid electrolytes can flow freely and achieve charging and discharging; However, the small contact area at the solid solid interface of solid-state batteries limits the transmission rate, cycle life, and performance of lithium ions. How to solve industry problems? We have developed a new material of organic-inorganic fusion solid electrolyte and developed solid battery cells. The problem of solid solid interface has been solved by supercritical coating process, fundamentally replacing thermal runaway media such as electrolyte and diaphragm. Zhou Linlu, Vice General Manager of Pure Lithium New Energy, said that this solid battery cell can be used safely and normally at temperatures of nearly 100 degrees Celsius, and there is no combustion or fire at temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius. Safety is just one of the advantages of solid-state lithium batteries. It is reported that the battery cycle of this solid-state lithium battery can reach thousands of times, so it also has advantages such as high efficiency, long life, and low cost, and can be applied in fields such as energy storage and electric bicycle batteries for two wheels. Last year, this achievement went out of the laboratory and began industrial transformation. It completed small-scale trial production in Yizhuang, Beijing and successfully mass-produced 10 ampere hour all solid state battery cells, preliminarily mastering the production technology of all solid state batteries. Zhou Linlu said that it was through the construction of a small trial production line and gradual debugging that the technical team broke through the solid-state battery cell production process, solved industry technical problems such as large-scale preparation of solid-state electrolytes and stability of contact between solid-state electrolytes and electrodes, reduced costs, and enabled mass production of products. After further amplification and introduction, solid-state lithium batteries have finally been mass-produced and produced on a large scale. At present, the target production capacity of the pure lithium new energy production line is 200 megawatt hours, which is equivalent to charging 200000 two wheelers at the same time. After full production, it can produce thousands of solid-state lithium batteries per day. This is also the first domestic production line for all solid state lithium batteries. Solid state batteries are one of the important development directions for the next generation of energy storage technology.
